A severe reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic to this medicine, contact your doctor or pharmacist. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately. Do not take any more doses of this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so. USING THIS MEDICINE ALONE, WITH OTHER MEDICINES, OR WITH ALCOHOL may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to this medicine. IF MODERATE TO SEVERE DIARRHEA OCCURS during or after treatment with this medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Do not treat it with non-prescription (over-the-counter) medicines. DO NOT TAKE SELDANE (terfenadine) OR HISMANAL (astemizole) while you are taking this medicine without first discussing it with your doctor. BEFORE YOU BEGIN TAKING ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter, check with your doctor or pharmacist. FOR WOMEN TAKING BIRTH CONTROL PILLS, this medicine may decrease the effectiveness of your birth control pills. To prevent pregnancy, use an additional form of birth control. This medicine is not recommended for use during pregnancy except when no other antibiotics can be used. The clarithromycin in this combination medication can potentially cause fetal harm. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using this medicine during pregnancy. IF YOU HAVE DIABETES, this medicine may cause false test results with some urine glucose tests. Check with your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine or changing your diet.

HOW TO USE HP-PAC:
Take by mouth exactly as directed by your doctor, usually one dose (which contains four pills) twice daily before a meal. Swallow each pill whole. Do not divide, crush or chew. HP-PAC SIDE EFFECTS:
Headache, dizziness and abnormal taste may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Report diarrhea promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: nausea, stomach pain, dark or bloody stools. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest pain, sudden weakness, vision changes, unusually fast or irregular heartbeats, vomiting, mouth sores, tongue discoloration, muscle pain, persistent sore throat with fever, unusual bruising or bleeding, yellowing of the eyes or skin, severe stomach pain, mood/mental changes, increased thirst or hunger, change in amount or color of urine. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, fainting, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
HP-PAC PRECAUTIONS:
Before using this drug, tell your doctor your entire medical history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, asthma or other lung disease, high blood pressure, diabetes. Limit alcohol intake, as it may worsen certain side effects of this medication. Since this drug may cause dizziness, use extreme caution if operating machinery or performing hazardous tasks (e.g., driving). This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. The clarithromycin in this combination medication can potentially cause fetal harm. Consult your doctor for more details. The amoxicillin in this product is excreted into breast milk. Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug, therefore caution is advised.
HP-PAC DRUG INTERACTIONS:
This product should not be used with the following medications because very serious, possibly fatal, interactions may occur: cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, terfenadine. If you are currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product. Before using this medication, tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: cyclosporine, tacrolimus, certain protease inhibitors (e.g., lopinavir, ritonavir), theophylline, warfarin, digoxin and other heart medications, zidovudine, certain "statin" drugs for high cholesterol (e.g., atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin), drugs for blood pressure (e.g., propranolol), drugs for diabetes (e.g., glyburide), bromocriptine, sildenafil, rifabutin, methylprednisolone, cilostazol, tolterodine, anti-seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproate), drugs for migraines (e.g., dihydroergotamine, ergotamine), benzodiazepines (e.g., alprazolam, triazolam), barbiturates (e.g., hexobarbital), certain narcotic pain relievers (e.g., alfentanil). Other drugs besides clarithromycin which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation in the EKG) include dofetilide, disopyramide, quinidine, droperidol, sotalol, procainamide, and sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rarely fatal, irregular heartbeats. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for details. Ask for instructions about whether you need to stop any other QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using in order to minimize the risk of this effect. Lansoprazole can decrease the effectiveness of certain drugs which require stomach acid in order to be absorbed. Before using this medication, consult your doctor or pharmacist on how to manage such a potential interaction if you are taking the following drugs: ampicillin, azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole), iron supplements. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

MISSED DOSE:
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
