Robaxacet General Information
Robaxacet is a prescription medication that provides a dual approach for the management and treatment of discomfort associated with certain musculoskeletal disorders. The mechanism in which the medication works has not yet been established; however, it is considered to be a general CNS depression treatment.
It does not have a direct effect on the contractible mechanism of the striated muscles, the motor end plate or the fiber of the nerves. It is a combination of methocarbamol and acetaminophen that makes it a potent pain reliever. Although the medicine is beneficial for many conditions, it is often known to interact with other drugs. Methocarbamol contained in the medication causes color interface in certain screening tests for the 5-HIAA or 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid and for VMA or vanillylmandelic acid.
While there are no restrictions for using Robaxacet during pregnancy, it is only recommended if it is required. Otherwise healthcare providers try to avoid the use of this medication in most of the cases of pregnancy and lactation. As a word of caution, a person taking this medication should not exceed the recommended dosage of the same. The medication can increase the changes or severe liver damage caused as a result of acetaminophen toxicity that can occur due to an overdose.
