A. VIGAMOX solution is BAC-free as a result of the inherent anti-bacterial and anti-fungal activity of the moxifloxacin formulation. VIGAMOX solution satisfies all the United States Pharmacopoeia requirements for preservative efficacy without the need for benzalkonium chloride, and, therefore, is referred to as "BAC-free."
As part of the United States Pharmacopoeia tests, VIGAMOX solution has been evaluated against a number of specified pathogens representative of a wide range of potential contaminants, including gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. A. The most frequently reported ocular adverse events were conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eye, keratitis, ocular discomfort, ocular hyperemia, ocular pain, ocular pruritus, subconjunctival hemorrhage, and tearing. These events occurred in approximately 1% to 6% of patients.

A. As with any other anti-infectives, prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, including fungi.
