It soothes your eyes in just minutes and offers protective relief for hours. This means that ALOCRIL ophthalmic solution continues to provide protection when you come in contact with allergens, even when you aren't expecting symptoms. What's more, ALOCRIL can be used in certain patients who cannot safely use other eye allergy products, including children 3 years of age and older. This product should be used in pregnant or nursing women only as clearly needed.

ALOCRIL may be safely used with children age 3 and older. It may also be used with other prescription and/or nonprescription allergy medications upon a physician’s approval. Pregnant or nursing patients should use ALOCRIL ophthalmic solution only as clearly needed.
ALOCRIL should be used twice a day. The recommended dosage of ALOCRIL ophthalmic solution is 1 to 2 drops in each eye twice a day. Patients should continue to use ALOCRIL regularly for as long as they are exposed to allergens, even if they have no symptoms.
To avoid contamination of the solution, patients should avoid touching the dropper tip to their eye, fingers, or any other surface. The cap should be replaced after use. It is recommended that any remaining contents be discarded after the treatment period prescribed.
ALOCRIL ophthalmic solution should be stored between 2°C-25°C (36°F-77°F) in its original carton, with the container lid tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
Note: Frequently reported adverse events included headache, irritation, nasal congestion, ocular burning, stinging, and unpleasant taste in ten to forty percent of patients. Other events occurring between one and ten percent included asthma, conjunctivitis, eye redness, photophobia, and rhinitis. Some of these events were similar to those produced by the underlying ocular disease being studied.

Alocril Information for Patients
Patients should be advised to follow the patient instructions listed on the Information for Patients sheet. Users of contact lenses should refrain from wearing lenses while exhibiting the signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
Alocril and Geriatric Use
No overall differences in Alocril safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly and younger patients.
Alocril and contraindications
ALOCRIL ophthalmic solution is contraindicated in those patients who have shown hypersensitivity to nedocromil sodium or any of the other ingredients.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Frequently reported adverse events included headache, irritation, nasal congestion, ocular burning, stinging, and unpleasant taste in ten to forty percent of patients. Other events occurring between one and ten percent included asthma, conjunctivitis, eye redness, photophobia, and rhinitis.
