How does Min Ovral work? What will it do for me?
Min Ovral is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water-pill) that is used alone or in combination with a potassium-depleting diuretic (such as hydrochlorothiazide) to lower high blood pressure. It is also used to decrease edema (fluid retention) that occurs with congestive heart failure and disorders of the liver. Diuretics work by making the body lose excess water and salt. Min Ovral is called a potassium-sparing diuretic because it does not cause potassium to be lost from the body.
Your doctor may choose to use Min Ovral for other conditions not listed here. If you're unsure why you are taking Min Ovral, contact your doctor.
How should I use Min Ovral?

Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is very important that Min Ovral be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue on with your regular schedule. irregular heartbeat
                  nervousness
numbness or tingling in hands, feet, or lips
shortness of breath or difficult breathing
                  unusual tiredness or weakness
                  weakness or heaviness of legs
Cardiopulmonary (heart and lung) disease: People with cardiopulmonary disease should be cautious while taking Min Ovral, as they are at an increased risk of developing important side effects.
Pregnancy: Min Ovral is not recommended for use during pregnancy. The potential benefits of the drug must be weighed against possible risks if it is taken by a woman who is or may become pregnant.
Breast-feeding: It is not known whether Min Ovral is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk and because of the potential for serious side effects, a decision should be made whether to stop nursing or stop taking the drug.
Children: The safety of Min Ovral has not been established for children. It is not recommended for them.

What other drugs could interact with Min Ovral?

The following medications may affect how Min Ovral works or increase the risk of side effects:
                  ACE inhibitors (e.g., enalapril, ramipril)
medications that reduce high blood pressure
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen)
drugs which increase potassium levels (such as potassium supplements, spironolactone, triamterene, and salt substitutes containing potassium)
The following medications may be affected by Min Ovral:
                  lithium
                  digoxin

                  quinidine
If you are taking any medications containing this drug, speak with your doctor or pharmacist. Depending on your specific circumstances, your doctor may want you to:
stop taking one of the medications,
change one of the medications to another,
change how you are taking one or both of the medications, or
                  leave everything as is.
An interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. In many cases, interactions are intended or are managed by close monitoring. Speak to your doctor about how any drug interactions are being managed or should be managed.
Medications other than those listed above may interact with Min Ovral. Tell your doctor or prescriber about all prescription, over-the-counter (non-prescription) and herbal medications that you are taking. Also tell them about any supplements you take. Since caffeine, decongestants, alcohol, the nicotine from cigarettes, or illegal drugs can affect the action of many medications, you should let your prescriber know if you use them.
