Side Effects of Plavix
Plavix can cause allergic reactions and side effects in some patients. Not everyone will experience the same degree of reaction to this medicine. Adverse reactions may range from minor to severe, requiring immediate medical attention.
If you show signs of an allergic reaction to Plavix seek emergency medical attention. Allergic reactions will result in hives, breathing difficulty, and swelling of the face. Your tongue, lips, or throat, may also be affected by swelling. Allergic reactions to Plavix can become extremely dangerous and need to be attended to immediately.
Other serious side effects; not of an allergic nature can include bruising, chest pain, coughing up blood, fever, jaundice, nosebleeds, unwarranted bleeding, or weakness. Additional side effects not included in this list may occur and need to be brought to the immediate attention of your doctor.
Some patients using Plavix have reported bouts of itching after using this drug. Although uncomfortable, itching is one of the lesser side effects incurred with the use of Plavix. Do not take aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) while you are taking Plavix unless directed to do so by your doctor. Due to the bleeding factor, avoid activities that may result in bleeding injuries or bruises.
