How to Take Vitamin B12
The recommended dosage of Vitamin B12 depends on several factors. The factors include other medical conditions, the reason you are taking this medication and the form of this medication. Never ever increase or decrease the recommended dosage of this medication in any case without the prior permission from your health care provider. The recommended dosage of Vitamin B12 in infants of age between 0 to 6 months is 0.4 mcg per day. For infants of age between 7 to 12 months of age can have a recommended dosage of 0.5 mcg per day. For children of age between 1 to 3 years of age can have a recommended dosage of 0.9 mcg per day. 1.2 mcg per day is recommended for children of age between 4 to 8 years. 9 to 13 years old children can have a recommended dosage of 1.8 mcg per day. Adults and teenagers of age above 14 years can have a recommended dosage of 2.4 mcg per day. For pregnant women the recommended dosage is 2.6 mcg per day and for nursing mothers it is 2.8 mcg per day. Vitamin B12 is a non prescription dietary supplement. Never exceed the recommended amount of this medication.
