Actos Side Effects
The anti-diabetes oral medication Actos side effects are normally not serious, however if they are persistent the physician should be alerted. In most cases any Actos side effects are mild in nature and will decrease as the body becomes accustomed to the medicine. The main side effect can be hypoglycemia if enough calories are not taken in and to prevent this side effect it is important to eat meals on a regular schedule. The symptoms can be chills, dizziness, cold sweats, shaking, drowsiness, headache, tingling in the hands or feet and weakness. To combat these Actos side effects normally drinking orange juice, eating candy, regular soda or even table sugar can bring the dropped blood glucose level back up.
In rare cases there can be serious side effects that occur, including a rapid heartbeat and changes in vision, which includes color or night vision problems. There can also be dark urine, yellowing of the eyes or skin, nausea, vomiting, changes in menstrual cycles, stomach or abdominal pain.
Allergic reactions to Actos are extremely rare, but can have symptoms like swelling of the face, tongue and throat, a rash, itching and swelling. Any serious Actos side effects should be reported to the physician immediately and with difficulty breathing, rapid heartbeat or swelling of the mouth or throat, immediate medical attention may be required.
