How to Take Requip
The dosage of Requip is recommended based on certain factors. These include:
1) Presence of other medical conditions that are already being treated
2) Why the patient is prescribed with Requip?
3) Whether the patient is taking any other medication
You should not adjust the dosage of the medication unless you have been specifically instructed to do so. The dosage and the direction of use of Requip vary a lot depending upon the fact whether it is prescribed for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease or Restless Legs Syndrome. Make sure you follow the direction of your healthcare provider while consuming Requip.
The required dosage of the medication for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease is 0.25 mg, to be taken three times a day. Your healthcare provider may choose to alter the dosage of Requip if the patient suffers from any adverse effects of the medicine. Requip may take several weeks to show results. The dosage of Requip should not exceed 24 mg per day when given for treating Parkinson’s disease. The recommended dosage of Requip for treatment of Restless Legs Syndrome is 0.25 mg, to be taken once in a day. The time of the consumption of Requip for this purpose should be a couple of hours before bedtime.
