In some cases, doctors also prescribe to take 150 mg of Actonel once in a month to such patients. For male patients suffering with osteoporosis, 35 mg of Actonel once in a week is the ideal dosage. 5mg of Actonel once daily is the prescribed dose for patients taking this medication to get relief from steroid induced osteoporosis. For patients suffering from Paget's disease, 30 mg of Actonel should be taken daily. This dose needs to be continued for two months. Actonel is an oral medication and comes in tablet form. You need to take the medication with plain water only. This medication needs to be taken at least 30 minutes before meal. You need to take required amount of calcium and Vitamin D while under this medication.
