How to Take Avandia
Avandia is usually taken twice daily at twelve hour intervals, unless prescribed differently by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Avandia needs to be taken exactly as prescribed, without changes in quantity or length of time taken. Occasionally your physician may alter the dose to ensure that you are receiving the maximum benefits from Avandia. Your doctor will perform blood testing regularly to ensure Avandia is working for you. In some instances, liver function may also need to be tested. Prescriptions should always be refilled before the medication runs out. Your doctor may prescribe other medicines to be taken in combination with Avandia. Diet, exercise, and weight control will become a very important part of your treatment regimen. Contact your doctor if you become ill or suffer from a serious injury or infection. He may want to discontinue use of Avandia during your convalescence. If you miss a dose, take one as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next regularly scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose. Do not attempt to make up for the missed dose. If you accidentally take too much Avandia, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Signs of an overdose can appear as confusion, dizziness, headaches, hunger, low blood sugar, seizures, tremors, or weakness.
