How to Take Flovent

The dosing system of Flovent is dependent upon several factors. These are age of the patients, the severity of your asthma, other medications that are taken by you. Do not try to change your dose with out the proper instruction of your doctors. Flovent comes in two from like, HFA inhaler and Diskus inhaler. Diskus inhaler is available in a low strength and generally prescribed to children only. For the age group of 4 to 11 the primary dose of Flovent HFA is two inhalations of Flovent HFA 44 mcg twice in a day. For Flovent Diskus, the recommended starting dose for this age group is one inhalation of 50mgc two times in a day. The maximum recommended dose for this age group is 100mcg (two inhalations) twice in a day. For adult person and children (more than 12 years) the dose of Flovent is depend upon the type of asthma medication that was previously taken. Those who are taking only bronchodilator medications, the starting dose is two inhalation of Flovent HFA44 two times in a day and the maximum dose is Flovent HFA 220 mcg twice daily. Those who are taking inhaled steroid with or with out a bronchodilator, the opening dose is Flovent HFA 44 mcg (two inhalations) twice a day. The highest dose in this situation is Flovent HFA 220 mcg twice daily (two inhalation).
