How to Take Orthovisc
Orthovisc is a substance that is generally prescribed to a patient that is suffering from the discomfort and pain that is often caused by osteoarthritis and is given in the form of several different injections. After the first injection of Orthovisc is injected into the knee joints of a patient, the second injection is given a week later, and a third injection is given a full week after the second injection. In some cases a physician will determine that a fourth injection is required and it is given a full week after the third injection has been given. A patient that choose to undergo the injections of Orthovisc needs to be aware that they may not experience any pain relief from the injections until after they have received the third injection of Orthovisc. A patient will need to avoid any type of activity that is prolonged (longer than an hour) or strenuous for 48 hours after they have been injected with the Orthovisc substance. Examples of the types of activities that a patient having these injections will need to avoid for a 48 hour period would include activities such as any type of heavy lifting, running, tennis, and a variety of others.
