How to Take Pimobendan
Before giving Pimobendan to your pet read the leaflet provided with the medication carefully. If you do not understand anything in the leaflet consult your veterinarian immediately. Follow the exact instructions given by your veterinarian during the administration of the medication. This medication should be given through the mouth only.
The dosage of Pimobendan may vary depending of the reason for the prescription of this drug. The recommended dosage of this medication depends on the body weight of your pet. The standard recommended dosage of this medication ranges in between 0.05 to 0.15 mg per pound for every twelve hours.
The dosage should be given one hour prior to a meal. If you ever miss to give any dosage, give it as soon as you remember. If the time for next dosage is nearing, skip the missed dosage and continue with the next regular dosage. Never give 2 dosages at a time. It may cause over dose of this medication and may result severe vomiting. The medication should be given to the pet only, to whom this medication was prescribed. Make sure to notify the veterinarian of other medication or vitamins that your dog is administered currently. Other medications or drugs may interact with this medication and may result ineffectiveness or side effects.
