How to Take Xylocaine
Xylocaine is usually injected into the body. Xylocaine can be injected into the muscles or under the skin as instructed by your health care provider. The location and dosage of the drug depends on the response of the drug and the condition.
Before using this medication check visually for any discoloration or particles in the medication. If you see any abnormalities in the medication do not use it. Carefully read the contents and instructions given in the leaf let provided with this medication. If you do not understand anything from the leaflet immediately talk to your health care provider.
Learn about the injection techniques from your health care provider. The maximum dosage of this medication in adults should not exceed 7 mg per Kg of the body weight. Standard maximum dosage of this medication should not be more than 500 mg. If you are using any disinfectant for skin and mucus membrane, it should not contain heavy metals such as copper, zinc or mercury. It may cause edema and swelling. Xylocaine should be stored at a room temperature of approximately 25o C and away from light. Take the medication as directed by the health care provider only. Do not share the medication with other people, even if he/she is having the same symptoms.
