Crestor Side Effects
Crestor is a medication that lowers high cholesterol levels, but at the same time there can be some side effects associated with the medication. The mild side effects can include headache, joint or muscle pain, nausea, stomach pain, indigestion and constipation.
In rare cases there can be other Crestor side effects that are more serious and may need emergency medical care. These can be muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, there can be nausea, loss of appetite,itching, dark urine and clay colored stools. There can also be signs of jaundices, which will be yellowing of the skin or eyes.
There are some medications that do not combine well with Crestor and can cause dangerous health effects. These include antibiotics like clarithromycin, erythromycin and telithromycin. Other medications that should not be mixed with Crestor are antifungal medications, medications that contain niacin, amiodarone, gemfirbrozil and danazol. Heart and blood pressure medications like diltilazemm Cartia, Cardizem, werapamil, Calan, Covera, Isoptin, and Verelan. HIV medications like atazanavir, ritonavir and others. Drugs that weaken the immune system like steroids, cancer medications, and anti-rejection medicines. Crestor should not be taken by women that are pregnant, as this medication can harm the unborn baby and should not be used by women breastfeeding, as it can harm the infant.
