How to Take Crestor
Crestor is prescribed to take once per day by the physician to help effectively lower high cholesterol. This is in the class of statins and should be taken at approximately the same time daily for it to work the most effective, as it will continuously be in the system.
When taking this cholesterol medication if a dosage is missed it should be taken as soon as possible, unless it is near the next dosage. If the missed dosage is within a short amount of time till the next dosage it should be skipped. Two dosages of Crestor should never be taken at the same time as this can cause dangerous health complications.
During the time that Crestor is being taken the physician will monitor the cholesterol condition closely by doing blood tests and checking that liver function is normal. In patients at risk for kidney disease it can include monitoring of the kidneys to ensure they are working properly. This cholesterol medication should not be stopped without the express advice of the physician for the person that has high LDL levels of cholesterol. Crestor side effects should be reported to the physician and in serious cases immediate medical attention may be required.
