Other serious side effects requiring immediate medical help can include appetite changes, fevers, headaches, insomnia, changes in menstrual periods, and weight changes.
Mild hair loss has been reported as one of the less serious side effects incurred with the use of Synthroid.
A myriad of other drugs can interact with Synthroid. Medications such as amiodarone, antidepressants, or lithium can cause medical problems if used at the same time as Synthroid. Some drugs can be continued, but may cause Synthroid to be less effective if taken at the same time. Antacids containing aluminum, calcium carbonate, ferrous sulfate iron supplement, sodium polystyrene sulfonate, and sucralfate should be taken at least four hours before or four hours after taking Synthroid.
