How to Take Norvasc
Norvasc needs to be taken once daily, orally. You should take this medication at a fixed time every day; this helps in marinating a certain level of the medication in our system. Norvasc can be consumed with or without food.
The quantity of the prescribed dosage of Norvasc depends on several factors such as age of a person, the medical condition for which Norvasc is prescribed, additional medical conditions that a person is suffering from and whether the person is under the dosage of any other medication. You should not change your dosage of Norvasc unless your doctor asks you to alter it. The recommended dosage of Norvasc in people having heart disease or high blood pressure is 5mg once a day. The dosage may be increased by the doctor up to10 mg of Norvasc (to be taken once in a day); but this depends on your response towards Norvasc. Your dosage may also be reduced if any side effect is experienced. The recommended dosage for hypertension patients above 6 years of age ranges between 2.5mg and 5mg of Norvasc daily. If you have consumed excess Norvasc (i.e. a quantity more than the prescribed dose), you should try supportive treatment methods like fluids extraction through IV.
