Vetmedin is an inexpensive prescription drug used to treat and control congestive heart failure due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy. Vetmedin has properties that allow it to open blood vessels taking blood away from the heart, and open blood vessels returning blood to this organ, thus reducing pressure and stress on the heart.
Congestive heart failure is a weakening of the heart muscle. When this occurs, the heart’s ability to maintain normal blood pressure is compromised. As the heart grows weaker, it can cause strain on other organs resulting in added health issues.
